On 14th September Okhta JSC awarded a contract with Arabtec Construction for preliminary works related to design and construction of the public and business center Okhta.

The design of an architectural landmark of the public and business center Okhta elaborated by British company RMJM has nothing in common with the image broadcast in the First Chanel program last weekend, according to Project Architect, RMJM representative Ph. Nikandrov.

We believe that the Ministry for Culture of the Russian Federation is unable properly assess Okha Center Project, since it has never applied for Social and Business Center Okha to receive materials on it.

On 22nd September the Government of Saint Petersburg adopted a request of Social and Business Center Okha JSC for deviation from limit permitted parameters of the permitted construction of the high-rise landmark and base buildings. This decision was unanimously taken by the members of the Government.

On 17th September the Commission for Land Use and Development of Saint Petersburg by the majority of votes approved a Conclusion on the Results of Public Hearings for Deviation from Limit Permitted Parameters of Construction of the High-rise Landmark Okhta Center held on 1st September, 2009.

An official Okhta Center Project web site has been modernly and functionally redesigned. The purpose of the web site has also been changed like the design. Now it is not only a presentation internet resource but as well an information portal aimed at becoming an instrument for efficient information sharing for city-dwellers on the progress of the project.
