The matter is not connected with Gazprom, the matter is that since Petersburg is a museum city, it can stand aside of everything going on worldwide.

On August 3, 2010 a session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee was over, where among others the issue of Petersburg heritage including the issue of Okhta Center construction was discussed. How would you comment on the disputes around this project? And speaking about the parameters and details of this design how are they executed in your opinion?

Nowadays this project is very important for the city. By planning the budget of Saint Petersburg, we reckon upon the monies brought about by Okhta Center Project to the city.

Owing to Okhta Center we have received much new: now we are aware of what Nienschanz fortress looked like, a lot of artifacts have been detected. Everything will be on display in the museum which is planned to be established in Okhta Center.

The disputes around Okhta Center are becoming unconstructive. Like in early 20th century they asked Are you for the Reds or for the Whites? The same is here, nowadays the problem of Okhta Center is splitting the society.

Speaking about Petersburg as a European city, a European capital, then the City on the bank of the river including a tower landmark is of good taste and good tradition.

Okhta Center is a modern project which must appear sooner or later. The construction will naturally change an appearance of the city.

There is a certain inferiority complex in counter-construction of Okhta Center. There are people who suffer physical pane caused by everything new, bright, dashing and noticeable.
