PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project of a public and business area Okhta Center encompassing the functions of a business center and a modern public and cultural complex was to have been built in the mouth of the river Okhta, on the right bank of the river Neva at the site of former Soviet industrial premises.
The project was cancelled by the Governor´s Decree in December 2010.

Okhta promontory obtained the status of a place of interest
The decision of the Committee for State Control, Use and Protection of Historic and Cultural Landmarks on the enlisting of Okhta promontory into the Regional Registry of Cultural Property will definitely meet the demands of the Administration of Saint Petersburg, city conservationists, and representatives of business community.

Developers: despite the relocation Okhta Center gave an impetus to the development of the adjoining areas
The project of the construction of Okhta Center was relocated from Krasnogvardeysky district of Saint Petersburg to Primorsky district but in any case it has given an impetus to the development of the surrounding area. It was advised today on the 31st October by the representatives of development companies operating in Krasnogvardeysky district of the city.

Architects do not recommend turning Okhta promontory into a museum only
Nowadays opposite the Smolny there is a long dark blue fencing behind which there is a large site where previously the construction of Okhta Center, Gazprom owned public and business complex was planned.
